Bicycles for Students

students posing with their new bicycles

In Rogbamtama village, Port Loko District, Sierra Leone, many students in the surrounding communities, must walk miles to attend Hope Academy Primary and Junior Secondary School.

This journey poses a lot of physical challenges for some students. They must wake up early in the morning to embark on the trek and at the end of the day they arrive home late after school exhausted. Leaving no time to do homework or participate in after school activities.

EFH launched a used bicycle campaign to provide these students with bicycles. Many thanks to Otto, Camille, and Elsa Raedeke and our other donors for donating their used bicycles to support our campaign.

Sixteen used bicycles were donated and shipped to the school, which were distributed to students based on their commuting distance. The students and their parents were excited to receive the bicycles and expressed their thanks and appreciation to the donors.

There are many students in need of a bicycle. If you have a used bicycle that you would like to donate to our campaign, contact us via email at info@educationforhope.org, one of our volunteer staffs will reach out to you to arrange pick up or drop off – Thank You!
