Nakiya Pitts recently joined the Education for Hope (EFH) team as the acting grants and research intern coordinator. Before joining the EFH staff, she received a B.S. in Justice Studies from James Madison University in Virginia and is a currently pursuing a Masters at American University’s School of International Service in Washington, D.C. studying International Relations specializing in Africa. As a young professional, she has worked with entities such as the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Institute in 2011 and aspires to work closely with future African leadership to promote a stronger more prosperous region.
Outside of her professional interests, she remains a dedicated member of her sorority Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and enjoys shopping and spending time with friends and family.
