Suzanne Snurpus

Suzanne Snurpus believes that education breaks barriers and helps young people out of poverty. With over twenty years of experience as a manager, communicator and teacher, she has been on a mission to educate people and empower their lives.

Suzanne is currently building a Mentorship Program for American Federation of Government Employees, which will bring together experienced and young union members from all states. Prior to that, Suzanne was a Regional Field Director for the Service Employees International Union, managing the largest staff in the state of Florida working primarily in neighborhoods of color to empower them to engage in the issues they care about and affect positive change. She handled a diverse portfolio focused on coaching, mentoring and training. 

From 2011 until now, Suzanne has been with Obama for America and Organizing for Action, organizing, hiring and training people, building regional teams, fundraising and issue based advocacy. 

Previous to that Suzanne was a Registered Nurse Manager, fighting for access to healthcare in five states. She regularly flew to remote places to help people in need as part of her job duties. 

Suzanne holds a Master of Arts Degree from New York University, and a Bachelor of Science from The University of Georgia. Suzanne is a passionate volunteer and an avid traveler who likes to help people fighting for change. She spends the few free moments she has with her husband Scott and her adorable baby boy Noah.
